Retailers roll out a new way to buy

2020-02-18

Convenience stores and supermarkets are cashing in on the digital era by offering a new way to buy. It’s buy online, collect in-store. Customers use an app to pay for a product, often at a discount. Then they pick up the product in a brick-and-mortar store at a time of their choice. The items can also be transferred as gifts to family or friends.

The convenience store chain Hi-Life has more than 1,000 products available for pre-purchase, ranging from tea eggs and newspapers to milk. Supermarket chain PX Mart offers 210 products, and FamilyMart offers 50 items.
