Taipei restaurant offers delicious Czech cuisine

Today we take you to a Taipei restaurant that serves up delicacies from different countries. Until February, diners can enjoy eight dishes from the Czech Republic. This includes delicious fare such as classic Czech beef goulash and potato and pickle salads. FTV reporter Stephany Yang gives us a taste of things to come, as she takes us to meet David Steinke, the Czech representative to Taiwan, to find out what he recommends.

Slices of Camembert cheese are coated with breadcrumbs and deep fried. This traditional Czech appetizer is usually served with potatoes roasted in their jackets, french fries and tartar sauce. Fried cheese is Czech Representative to Taiwan David Steinke’s favorite comfort food.

Perhaps one of the worst sins of Czech cuisine would be fried cheese. So this is also my favorite thing.

This restaurant in Taipei is offering Czech dishes, such as classic Czech beef goulash, potato and pickle salad, Czech mushroom barley casserole, Czech-style fried pork schnitzel, traditional white bean soup, homemade meatloaf with mashed potatoes and blueberry pie.

Thanks to the Czech Office in Taiwan and also our friend, a Czech chef in Taipei, we are able to launch this menu. Also, our culinary team do a lot of good effort into that. It is a real honor to have this chance to bring this to the Taiwanese public.

The restaurant’s “culinary months” have featured dishes from countries including Saint Kitts and Nevis, Belize, Haiti, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Chile and the US. The restaurant will now serve up dishes from the Czech Republic till February.

今天帶大家去認識一間提供各國美食的餐廳。一直到明年二月,來到這裡可以享用到來自捷克的八道美食,包括如經典的捷克燉牛肉以及馬鈴薯酸黃瓜沙拉,來聽聽捷克駐台代表史坦格,最愛哪一道。

酥脆外皮包裹著濃郁的卡門貝爾乳酪,這道傳統的捷克開胃菜,通常搭配烤馬鈴薯、炸薯條和塔塔醬,是捷克駐台代表史坦格的最愛之一。

這家位於台北的餐廳,推出了數道傳統捷克美食,包括經典燉牛肉、馬鈴薯酸黃瓜沙拉、捷克蘑菇大麥砂鍋、捷克風味炸豬排、傳統捷克白豆湯、手工肉餅佐塔塔風味薯泥和捷克經典藍莓派。

餐廳舉辦過多國美食月活動,包括聖克里斯多福及尼維斯、貝里斯、海地、聖文森及格瑞那丁、聖露西亞、智利和美國等。捷克美食月將持續到明年二月。
