Running the sprinkler system in low temp leads to ice crystals in Wuling Farm

The low temperatures over the weekend could really be felt on the high mountains. Wuling Farm, located at 2,000 meters above sea level on the eastern edge of Taichung, saw the mercury drop down to 0.1 degrees. To prevent water pipes from freezing over and bursting, farm workers turned on the sprinkler system to keep the water running. What they didn’t expect was the formation of ice crystals after spraying the water, creating a rare sight.
Icicles hung from the trellis of this garden like crystalline diamonds glimmering in the sunlight.
A whole expanse of ice crystals spreads out before you. Not only does the ice cover the garden, even leaves are encrusted with a thin coat of ice.

The weather forecast said we might be getting some low temperatures today. So we turned on the sprinkler system in the vine garden to prevent the pipes from freezing, and that is how the trellis ended up like this.
In the early morning on Sunday, the mercury dropped to 0.1 degrees in Wuling Farm. Worried that the sprinkler system would freeze over, workers turned on the system as a precaution. What they didn’t expect was the formation of ice crystals after spraying the water. Together with the blooming of Japanese allspice flowers, the crystals afforded a beautiful view.

I came to the vine garden early in the morning and saw the frozen sprinkler system. Also, these Japanese allspice blossoms are really fragrant. This is a great leisurely escape.
Due to the low temperatures in the high mountains, there weren’t that many visitors to Wuling Farm. The few who braved the cold to come up the mountain in the early morning were treated to a rare sight of an ice crystal curtain, leaving a deep impression on those who saw it.

低溫來襲，台中高山武陵農場，今天(29日)清晨六點多，溫度下探0.1度，場方為了防止灌溉系統結冰無法使用，提前開啟灑水，想不到，水滴因此在藤花園棚架，形成了冰晶廉的美景，讓不少遊客大讚"好夢幻"。
藤花園上方，一片晶瑩剔透，一根根冰柱，彷彿燈炮垂落，在陽光照射下，顯得閃閃發亮。
放眼望去，一整片的冰晶，包覆花園，就連綠葉，也裹上一層薄冰。

“根據氣象預報得知，今天可能會有一些低溫的狀態。打開藤花園溫室的澆灌系統，就是預防它結冰，所以才會形成這樣的(棚架)結冰的樣態。”
武陵農場29日清晨低溫下探0.1度，農場人員擔心露天澆灌系統結冰凍壞，預防性啟動系統，沒想到水一噴，反而形成冰晶，搭配正綻放的蠟梅，成了場內獨有美景。

“清晨來藤花園，看到了結冰的灑水系統。還有看到這蠟梅，真的是很香的蠟梅，很悠閒。”
高山低溫來襲，武陵農場來客數不多，但清晨上山的民眾，賞到難得的"冰晶廉"美景，也為這趟旅程，留下難忘回憶。
