Eras Tour dancer shares Taiwanese-American heritage

A docuseries was recently released about American pop star Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, showing how the best of the best was brought together to stage the massive concert. One of the dancers was 35-year-old Taiwanese-American Karen S. Chuang, who formally joined the tour in 2023. Both her parents immigrated from Taiwan, and on her social media, she proudly states that she’s Taiwanese.
American pop superstar Taylor Swift recently released a docuseries bringing fans on a behind-the-scenes look at her Eras Tour.
Among these “best in the entire industry” was Taiwanese-American dancer Karen. You can see her dancing backup for Taylor Swift in a lot of the songs.
She not only dances with all her heart, but her facial expressions are also vivid, often earning her a place of honor right next to the pop star. Karen was born in California 35 years ago to two Taiwanese immigrants. On her Threads account, her bio says she’s Taiwanese, and her very first post said she’s the “daughter of Taiwanese immigrants.” Aside from dancing videos, she also posts a lot of content from her daily life.
In these posts, she shares a trip to Taiwan with her parents to see where they’re from. It’s clear that although she grew up in the US, she still feels a strong connection to her motherland. Since joining the tour in 2023, she’s traveled to 51 cities in 21 countries.
Although Karen majored in business economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, she’s always had a passion for dance. After graduating, she decided to become a full-time freelance dancer. And it’s not just Taylor Swift she’s danced for. She’s also performed alongside Lady Gaga and other global superstars, making a name for herself on some of the world’s grandest stages.

和父母親回台灣旅遊，看看他們過去出生的地方，從各種貼文上都看得出從小在美國長大的她，還是跟台灣有著連結。而她從2023年開始，就跟著泰勒絲到處巡演，兩年內到過21個國家、51個城市。
Karen大學就讀加州大學洛杉磯分校商業經濟學系，但對舞蹈非常熱愛，畢業之後就投入全職自由舞者工作，其實不只泰勒絲，甚至也參與過Lady Gaga等國際級天后的演出，在世界級大舞台上，跳出一片天。
