Malayan tapir at Taipei Zoo Limulu is all grown up

2025-04-16

Limulu, the 9-month old Malayan tapir at Taipei Zoo is growing rapidly, delighting zoogoers. Since her birth last July, the young cub has gone from being just 7 kilograms, to a whopping 180kg.

At birth, Limulu had brown fur, and dotted white lines across her body and limbs, which people said looked like a furry watermelon. But now she’s developed the distinctive black and white pattern of her species. She’s grown a lot, and so has her appetite. Besides eating, she spends her days clinging to her mother, making for an adorable picture when they are together.
