Taichung’s first library and museum hosts overnight stay ahead of opening

Taiwan’s first library crossed with an art museum is set to open on Dec. 13. Ahead of the formal launch, the Taichung Green Museumbrary organized an overnight stay for kids and families to get a sneak peek.
Many tents lit by dim orange lights make this accommodation one of a kind.
When the Taichung Green Museumbrary opens to the public on Dec. 13, it will be Taiwan’s first institution to merge a library with an art museum.

The Green Museumbrary was designed by Pritzker Prize winners Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. It consists of eight different buildings, including a library and an art gallery. All the buildings are interconnected, and there’s a connecting bridge. Looking out from inside, you can see all of Central Park.
Before the grand opening, the Musembrary organized an overnight stay for kids to get a first look at the place, complete with games and guided tours.

We selected 20 groups from the computer for each of two sessions, making 40 groups in total. We hope everyone can experience what the Green Musembrary looks like at night, including the art gallery and library. We especially invited parents to bring their kids to see what it’s like to attend a storytime here.
After much anticipation, the Taichung Green Museumbrary is finally about to open. For the lucky participants in the overnight stay, they even got to experience the beauty of the place at night.

台中首座結合圖書館與美術館的，"台中綠美圖"，即將在12月13日盛大開幕！ 開館前，特別舉辦了"夜宿綠美圖"活動，邀請大小朋友們，提前"入厝"!
好幾個小帳棚，隱隱約約透出橘黃燈光，這個住宿地點，非常特別。
12/13，"台中綠美圖"即將盛大開幕，這也是全台第一座，結合圖書館與美術館的文化新地標。

“綠美圖是普立茲克建築獎得主，妹島和世與西澤立衛的作品，它是有8棟不一樣的建築所建築而成，裡頭有圖書館也有美術館，每一棟都有互相流通，而且我們還有個連通橋，我們裡面往外看，看的出整個中央公園的風景”
開館前，特別舉辦了，"夜宿綠美圖"活動，讓小朋友們，搶先"入厝"，活動包含各種闖關遊戲、導覽體驗。

“從電腦挑出20組，總共2梯次總共40組，我們很希望讓大家感受到，夜間的綠美圖，包括夜間的美術館，夜間的圖書館，到底長什麼樣子呢，這次規劃也有特別邀請父母，帶著小朋友來體驗，美術跟閱讀的氛圍”
市民引頸期盼的綠美圖，終於要在正式開館，提前的夜宿活動，也讓人搶先體驗到，綠美圖夜間的美。
