A resourceful fashionista in Kaohsiung has found a new chic way to beat the summer heat, but few are hopping on the trend. The visionary man was seen walking on the street with a rooftop turbine vent plopped on his head. The metal accessory spun around him as he strutted along, catching the eye of passersby. But this niche alternative to a sunhat has not convinced anyone. Let’s hear more.

It looked so weird! He walked past the front there and then turned into the alley.

It only increases the weight on your neck. It’s doesn’t actually do anything. The steel ones are sharp. You could get hurt. I wouldn’t recommend wearing it.
Vents like these are usually installed on the top of buildings to disperse heat from indoors. But this inventive man customized a helmet to plop the vent on his own head and create a whimsy accessory. Though it may keep his fit feeling fresh, experts say there’s nothing cooling about the cool headwear. In fact, it can be quite dangerous, as the edges of the turbine blades are extremely sharp. What’s more, vents usually weigh between 1kg and 3kg, meaning you really have to suffer for fashion.
