A truck driver suddenly found himself in a life-or-death situation after a sudden downpour in Yilan. Mr. Yu, who is in his 60s, had been parked at a dredging site on the Lanyang River, when the torrential rain sent the river surging, trapping his vehicle in the current. Firefighters went to rescue him at around 4 in the morning, using ropes to rescue the trapped man and bring him to dry land. Let’s hear more.

As soon as we received the report, we dispatched staff, boats and vehicles to the scene. Our firefighters waded across the current to set up a ropeway and bring the truck driver to safety. Fortunately he emerged unharmed.
Mr. Yu was waiting in his truck as part of a dredging operation near the Huludu Bridge, when the water level on the river suddenly soared. He immediately called for help to be taken ashore. Just a short few hours later, the swell had already receded. The contractor in charge of the operations says that a notice had been sent to workers, saying that work would be called off due to the rain. Perhaps the truck driver didn’t see the memo, but fortunately, he escaped unharmed.

宜蘭一夜大雨狂炸，造成蘭陽溪水暴漲，今天凌晨4點多，在員山鄉葫蘆堵大橋下，驚傳一名執行疏濬工程的卡車司機，連人帶車受困湍急溪水中。消防人員獲報前往，架設繩索帶著駕駛驚險渡河，結束這場驚魂記。

“本局接獲報案後，立即出動人員、船艇、車輛前往救援，消防人員到達現場後，涉水架設繩索，順利將司機引導救出，所幸司機並無受傷之情形”
這處原本正在進行，蘭陽溪葫蘆堵的疏濬工程河段，當時60多歲的游姓司機，正在車上待命，沒想到雨下個不停，溪水暴漲，水位快速上升，他緊急打電話求救。早上再回到事發現場，溪水已經明顯退去，業者低調回應，因大雨造成溪水暴漲，之前就通知今天停止施工，可能司機沒注意，好在沒有人員傷亡。
