Hiker falls 300 meters to his death at Yushan

A hiker fell to his death when descending Yushan, Taiwan’s tallest mountain. The 47-year-old man was hiking with 10 others from Kaohsiung. They had reached the summit and were on their way down, when he slipped and fell 300 meters into a valley.

When rescue crew arrived at the scene, they found the man already dead. The body was airlifted to Nantou’s Tongfu Village on Tuesday, where it was handed over to police and the man’s family.

攻頂玉山主峰"下山意外"! 失足跌落300米深谷 47歲男子身亡

高雄一支11人登山隊,攀登玉山主峰,並且成功登頂,但是,一名山友下山時,卻失足跌落深谷。搜救人員到場尋獲跌落山友,但不幸已經死亡。

18日清晨,救援人員把山友遺體,拉到定點,再經過直升機成功吊掛,送到信義同富停機坪,交由警方及家屬。
