Suao fishers’ association keeps holiday giftbox prices down despite inflation

The Suao Fishers’ Association is offering seafood giftboxes for Mid-Autumn Festival, packed full of mackerel, bluefin tuna fillets, squid, jumbo white shrimp, large scallops, and—for the first time—tiger grouper farmed in central and southern Taiwan, all of which are delivered live. However, due to extreme weather events this year, catches have been smaller than usual. With increased demand for the holiday, wholesalers have raised prices by at least 20%. But the association is insisting on keeping prices level for their customers.

There’s also grilled tiger grouper and fillets of bluefin tuna, as well as steamed grouper cheek. Mid-Autumn Festival is almost here, and the Suao Fishers’ Association is looking to bring people’s barbeques to the next level with a seafood giftbox. This is the first year they’re including tiger grouper farmed in central and southern Taiwan.

There’s less mackerel than before. For NT$600, you get nine or 10 pieces. Wholesale prices are up almost 20% from last year. But to make sure everyone can enjoy our local Taiwanese seafood, we’re not raising mackerel prices.

And how about this shrimp, plump and ready to eat. Then of course there’s decadent mackerel, mahi mahi, and flying fish roe sausages, all fresh and hearty. The fishers’ association is working hard to keep prices down so that everyone can enjoy their holiday.

蘇澳區漁會搶攻"中秋海鮮禮盒" 魚貨減產 不漲價

為了搶攻中秋商機,蘇澳區漁會推出海鮮禮盒,不僅有鯖魚、黑鮪魚腹肉魚排、透抽、霸王白蝦、大干貝,還首度加入中南部養殖的龍虎石斑,強調活魚直送,不過今年受到天災影響,不少魚貨產量減少,加上中秋需求大增,光是批發價就已經喊漲,至少漲2成,不過漁會佛心說,不漲價。

乾煎龍虎石斑、或是黑鮪魚腹肉魚排,還是來個清蒸龍虎斑下巴,中秋節將至,蘇澳區漁會推出漁貨伴手禮,今年首度加入中南部養殖的龍虎石斑。

“鯖魚現在的一個總量比較少,600塊大概有9片到10片左右。我們在批發價當中,是比前年大概漲了差不多快2成,但是我們為了要給國人享用到我們國產魚,今年我們鯖魚也不漲價。”

看看這蝦肉,有多彈Q,大尾白蝦現剝現吃,還有油質豐富的鯖魚片、鬼頭刀、飛魚卵香腸,新鮮又澎派,漁會努力壓成本,佛心喊沒漲價,要讓大家好好過佳節。
