Taiwan’s technological prowess is world-renowned. The National Science and Technology Council not only promotes new technologies, but cultivates the next generation of tech professionals from a young age. The council partners with local schools to educate young students about how technology is used in daily life. It has even launched programs such as a one-day research experience in Hualien and Taitung, and a science-themed train tour around the island.
This incredible co-host uses fluent Taiwanese to introduce itself and help the main host introduce the event’s highlights.

Most children these days speak very little Taiwanese. We think this creates a generational gap between them and their grandparents, so we want to help bridge that gap and connect the three generations.

In terms of design, we wanted it to have a friendly attitude and cute appearance. Whether it’s marketed for education, for children, or even for elderly care, everyone tends to find it very appealing.
To promote science education across different age groups, the National Science and Technology Council has organized the “Kiss Science” event for seven straight years. It also offers a one-day research tour in Hualien and Taitung, and a “Taiwan Science Train Tour,” which is a six-day island-wide program designed to help children learn about technology through daily life.
Wu Cheng-wen
NSTC Minister
We hope that children can understand the scientific principles behind natural phenomena from an early age, sparking their curiosity. This, in turn, could help increase the number of future tech professionals and make Taiwan even stronger.
The council is promoting the development of AI, integrating it into daily life, and cultivating it as a future pillar of the tech industry. It also focuses on education, ensuring that the next generation is familiar with upcoming technologies.
