Yunlin’s Caoling recognized as World Bamboo Landmark

Yunlin County has created a therapeutic bamboo forest in the Shibi area of Caoling Township, the grove and its artistic infrastructure made entirely bamboo. For its efforts, the area was recognized by the World Bamboo Organization as a “World Bamboo Landmark,” becoming the first county to earn the designation.

Smiling wide, Yunlin County Commissioner Chang Li-shan accepts a certificate from the World Bamboo Organization recognizing Yunlin as a World Bamboo Landmark.

According to Chang, it is the first county to earn the designation, putting it on the world map.

This recognition for our therapeutic forest in Shibi as a World Bamboo Landmark is the result of everyone’s hard work.

This therapeutic bamboo grove in Shibi is made from 516 hectares of moso bamboo, rich in healing phytoncides. The county brought participants of the World Bamboo Congress here for a visit.
