Taiwanese girl band GENBLUE makes a big splash in the world of K-pop

The Taiwanese girl band GENBLUE has made quite a splash in the South Korean entertainment industry. GENBLUE is the first group of mainly Taiwanese performers to debut in the notoriously competitive K-pop industry. Its six members are mostly still in their teens. They’re living and working in Korea, going through a rigorous training program. And their first song garnered 12 million plays in one month – a promising start. The group members sat down for an interview, in which they shared about the joys and struggles of getting into K-pop.
The members of GENBLUE greet fans in Taiwanese. They’re incredible dancers, but their natural, unaffected interviews have won many fans’ hearts.
Ayeon is the only South Korean member of the group. She shares that her favorite Taiwanese food is mango ice, in Taiwanese. All the members of the group have a gruelling regime of training every day in South Korea.

Sometimes we’ve done a single move many times but I will still forget it. So I have to rely on them to help me, and maybe tell me, “You should do this part like this, it will be better.” That’s the only way I can realize, “Oh! It’s like that!” And then once I’ve seen it I can make progress.

There are so many lessons prepared for us each day! When we first started training, I really felt like, “This is tiring! I miss home!”
Ayako is known for her endlessly sunny attitude. But she shared the top thing that has bothered her so far.

I don’t really mind if people criticize me. I just think, “Okay, no biggie.” But what really stuck with me was, once someone wrote this huge article, and praised everyone in the group one by one. And I thought at the end of the article it would be my turn. But it just said, “Ayako is pretty.” Period. I was devastated for ages! I thought, “Am I really that invisible?!”

The group has broken into the top six pop music shows in South Korea. Their first song in Korean gained over 12 million plays in just one month. These performers are still, on average, under the age of 20. Their many fans are wondering what kind of spectacular performances they might come out with, as their careers blossom.

「台妞韓團」幻藍小熊，以實力派新人之姿，空降韓國娛樂圈，新歌更狂掃KPOP各大音樂媒體平台，成為另類的台灣之光，他們也接受民視專訪，分享在韓國長達半年的受訓生活。
用台語和大家打招呼，女團"幻藍小熊"，不僅擁有超強演唱舞蹈實力，私下不做作的模樣，也擄獲許多粉絲的心。
團隊裡面唯一一名韓國籍成員阿勇，俏皮用台語分享自己最愛吃台灣的芒果冰。不過幻藍小熊在韓國每天接受長時間的魔鬼訓練，受訓過程可說是相當辛苦。

“就是我有時候就是一個動作，雖然就是已經跳了可能很多次，可是我就是還是會忘，要靠他們幫忙，然後可能講說，這個地方應該要怎麼做更好，然後我才有辦法，喔，原來是這樣，我理解了之後，我就會改進”

“每一天都是很多的課程在等著我們，所以我覺得在練習上面，剛開始真的會覺得，喔，有點累，想家”
而總帶給人活潑開朗形象的采甄，透露自己最在意這件事。

“別人罵我，我都覺得還好，就是喔，看一看就好，但是我之前最印象深刻的是，有一個人他是寫一大篇喔，然後把每個人都誇獎過一輪，到最後我就想，終於要輪到我了，看一下，采甄也很漂亮，句號，我那時候傷心了很久，想說覺得我這麼的，被人沒看見嗎”

“不管過程如何，我們就是一定要越來越朝著我們的遠程目標前進，然後也希望大家在這一路上，可以互相的扶持”

“現在突然多了這麼多的姐姐妹妹，就覺得，就是真的把他們當自己的家人一樣，所以就是很感謝你們這段時間的陪伴，然後我們之後一起加油”
幻藍小熊如今已解鎖韓國六大打歌舞台，首張韓文單曲更在短短一個月突破1200萬紀錄，一群平均年齡不到20歲的女孩，會綻放出什麼樣的火花，也讓粉絲相當期待。
